Lochaber Watersports
Lochaber WaterSports is based at West Harbour, Ballachulish. The sheltered waters of Loch Leven lead to the Firth of Lorne giving easy access to Oban and Mull. All around magnificent scenery can be enjoyed whilst seals, porpoises, dolphins and sometimes whales compete with the bird life for your attention.
Two of our yachts, "FIGMENT lll" a Catalina 320 and "FREEDOM", a Westerly Fulmar, are available for bareboat or skippered charter as well as the full range of 5 day RYA offshore sailing courses.
The rest of our fleet is available for either bareboat or skippered charter:
"FIGMENT lll and ll" can both sleep up to 6 in three cabins. Both are fully equipped with hot and cold water, showers below and on deck, large fridge/freezer, an excellent galley including twin sinks and central heating throughout. A comprehensive range of linked Raymarine instruments includes chartplotter, autopilot and Navtex.
On deck, all lines are led aft to the cockpit which is dominated by a stainless steel "Destroyer" wheel, complete with repeating instruments on the binnacle. An electric anchor windlass and self-tailing winches ease the hard work. A modern wing keel ensures excellent windward performance.
"FREEDOM" is similarly equipped but with tiller steering and a manual cold water system.
"FANTOM" is our classic and comfortable Sadler 32 and is fitted with tiller steering, cold water system etc.
'ROCKETT' a J105 is new to our fleet for 2010. She is a very nice example of this very successful and popular American one-design race boat. Ideally suited for any of the West Coast Regattas, West Highland Week, Round Mull etc or a serious contender for any of teh 3-Peaks Races. She is fully equipped with 6 berths downstairs, but is fitted out for racing rather then sumptuous cruising!
Lochaber Watersports also offer intensive RYA theory courses with or without accommodation and the entire range of 2 and 3 day RYA Powerboat courses up to Advanced level, using our fully equipped 90hp Tohatsu 6.1 metre RIB.
Based beside a modern hotel, charterers also have the complimentary use of the swimming pool, sauna and gym before and after their cruise.
